Suwon FC, who ‘kicked the table’ several times, is not talking about ‘automatic relegation’

On June 7, Suwon FC, which has been in 10th place in the K League 1 for about five months, suddenly found itself in a position where it had to worry about automatic relegation to the second division. Suwon FC had several chances to win the ‘Suwon Derby’ against the bottom-ranked Suwon Samsung on the same day, and widen the gap, but they squandered them.

Suwon Samsung came from behind to win 3-2 against Suwon FC in the 36th round of the Hana WonQ K League 1 2023 at Suwon Sports Complex in Gyeonggi-do, Gyeonggi-do, at 2 p.m. on Wednesday.

Suwon Samsung’s victory over Suwon FC means that Jeju United (40 points) will finish ninth in the final standings, clinching automatic promotion without a relegation playoff. With two games remaining, 10th-placed Suwon FC (32 points), 11th-placed Gangwon FC (30 points) and 12th-placed Suwon Samsung (29 points) – all of whom are guaranteed relegation spots – are within striking distance of each other with one game remaining, setting up a chaotic relegation battle.

There was a huge turn of events in a crucial battle for survival. In the 13th minute of the first half, near the Suwon Samsung bench, Suwon Japanese midfielder Kazuki pushed Suwon FC forward Kim Do-yoon in the face with his arm. The referee confirmed the incident with an on-field review and gave Kazuki a direct red card in the 14th minute. Even with the win, Suwon Samsung was still in last place, but they were outnumbered early on.

Suwon FC then capitalized on their numerical advantage and began to overwhelm Suwon Samsung, eventually scoring the first goal. In the 30th minute, Suwon FC foreign defender Hugo Gomes headed home a left corner kick from Yoon Beetgaram to give the team a 1-0 lead.

Three minutes into first-half stoppage time, when Suwon FC was looking to take advantage of all the advantages and take the lead, Suwon Samsung staged a surprise comeback. Suwon Samsung’s right corner kick was saved by Suwon FC goalkeeper Park Bae-jong, and the ball was dropped to the left side of the box after a header competition between Suwon FC’s Kim Hyun and Suwon Samsung’s Kim Joo-won. Suwon Samsung’s foreign striker Acosti was waiting in the wings, and his right-footed shot found its way into the left corner of the goal, tying the game at 1-1 at halftime. 무지개토토 주소

In the second half, the unbelievable happened again. The visitors, down a man, pulled a goal back. Eight minutes into the second half, Acosti dropped a long pass from the back to the chest in front of the Suwon penalty arc, and Ahn Byung-joon connected with a low right-footed mid-range shot. The shot found its way into the low left corner of the Suwon FC goal, giving Suwon Samsung a surprise lead. But local rivals Suwon FC weren’t about to sit idly by. In the 15th minute of the second half, Lee Young-jae’s cross from the left half-space was headed home by Kim Hyun-ki to tie the game at 2-2.

However, Suwon’s determination to escape the bottom of the table proved to be the difference. In the 33rd minute, Mulicic sent a ball from the front of the box to Kim Joo-chan, who followed it all the way to the edge of the box and volleyed it past goalkeeper Park Bae-jong to make it 3-2, and the match ended in favor of Suwon Samsung.
