San Diego Darvish placed on injured list with elbow soreness

Japanese pitcher Darvish Yu (37) of the San Diego Padres, the team of Kim Ha-seong (28), was placed on the injured list (IL) due to elbow pain.

MLB.com, the official website of the Major League, reported on the 29th (Korean time) that Darvish was on the 15-day IL due to right elbow inflammation.

The IL registration date is applied retroactively to the 27th.

Darvish has started 24 games so far this season, digesting 136⅓ innings, and is 8-10 with an ERA of 4.56, falling short of expectations.스포츠토토

In particular, his earned run average is the highest since 2018 (Chicago Cubs), when he only played 8 games due to injury. In the last 3 games, he has been very sluggish with 3 losses and an average ERA of 7.31 without a win.

Last season, he was active with 16 wins and 8 losses and an ERA of 3.10, showing off his health.

San Diego signed a new contract with Darvish for 6 years and 108 million dollars, but from the first season of his long-term contract, he was disappointed with sluggishness and injuries.

San Diego, which is aiming for a wild card in the National League, has a gap in the starting rotation due to Darvish’s departure.

San Diego, currently ranked 4th in the National League West, is 8 games behind the 3rd placed Arizona Diamondbacks in the wild card competition.
