Toronto wins series against Washington with 8 innings of Bassett

The Toronto Blue Jays recorded a winning series against the Washington Nationals.

Toronto won 7-0 in a home game against Washington held at the Rogers Center in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on the 31st (Korean time).

With this victory, Washington recorded a winning series with 2 wins and 1 loss in 3 consecutive matches, recording 73 wins and 61 losses. They approached the tie for second place in the American League Wild Card by three games.

Starting pitcher Chris Bassett stood out. He pitched 8 innings, giving up 3 hits, 1 walk and 3 strikeouts. He threw a whopping 110 pitches and recorded 13 wins (7 losses) on the season.

With Bassett’s good pitching, Toronto rested its bullpen and stocked up on the upcoming six-game series between Denver and Oakland.먹튀검증

The batting line also responded to Bassett’s efforts. In the bottom of the first inning, Alejandro Kirk hit the left wall with a double, bringing in two runners and leading 2-0.

In the 4th inning, Santiago Espinal scored a right-handed hit from 1 out, 1st and 3rd base, and added 2 more runs with a sacrifice fly by Cavan Vizio.

In the 6th inning, Ernie Clement and Espinal’s consecutive hits in the 2nd and 3rd base opportunities came out and added 2 runs again. Kirk’s sacrifice fly in the 7th widened the gap again.

Kirk, who was unfortunately out at home the previous day, succeeded in completely dispelling the disappointment of the previous day by recording 3 hits, 2 points and 3 RBIs in 3 at bats.

Washington starter Patrick Corbin recorded 10 hits, 1 walk, 5 strikeouts and 6 runs in 5 innings, winning 12 losses (9 wins) in the season.
