You want Hafinha? Give me Romero…Tottenham-Barça potential swap deal

Tottenham Hotspur are considering a swap deal for Hapinha and Cristian Romero.

According to Spanish outlet Sport, “Tottenham want to sign Hafinha in the January transfer window. Barcelona are demanding 70 million euros ($98.9 billion) for his transfer. Tottenham are not ready to pay this amount. Barcelona are also considering a swap deal and have been keen on Romero for a long time.”

Hapinha is a Brazilian winger with a fast-tracked career. He made his senior debut in the Portuguese league in 2016 and impressed in the 2017-18 season, scoring 15 goals and providing five assists in the league alone. He then headed to Portuguese giants Sporting, but found it difficult to adapt to the suddenly higher level of the team. He eventually lost his place and moved to Stade Rennes for the 2019-20 season, where he rebounded.

Several English clubs took notice of his abilities, and Marcelo Bielsa, then in charge of Leeds United, snapped him up for €18.6 million.

At Leeds, he immediately became an ace. In his first year, he scored six goals and provided nine assists in the league alone, and in 2021-22, he improved even more, scoring 11 goals and adding three assists. At this point, Hapinha was one of the best wingers in the Premier League (PL).

His performances attracted interest from Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham, and Barcelona. Chelsea were the most active and most likely to sign him, but Barcelona’s entry into the race changed his mind. And just like that, Hapinha was wearing the Barcelona jersey he so desperately wanted. 토토사이트

Of course, life at Barcelona hasn’t been easy. To date, he has 12 goals and 15 assists in 61 games, including cup competitions. That’s not a lot of playing time, but it’s a performance that doesn’t live up to expectations. This season, he’s lost a bit of ground and is more of a reserve than a starter. As a result, there has been a lot of interest in the transfer rumor mill locally, with Tottenham reportedly making a move for Hapinha.

70 million euros. That’s a lot of money for Tottenham to spend. A swap deal could be a possibility. However, it remains to be seen if Tottenham would accept a swap deal for Romero. Romero has been a key defender for Tottenham since his arrival. While his rough tackles can be a little off-putting, he is an integral part of Enze Postecoglou’s system.
